Stainless steel coils are also called coils, and strips have many hardnesses and can be divided into many different types. The stainless steel commonly used in industry is generally classified according to the metallographic structure and can be divided into the following four categories: 300 series stainless steel coils have good ductility and are used for forming products. It can also be quickly hardened by machining; 400 series: ferritic and martensitic stainless steel; 500 series: heat-resistant chromium alloy steel; 600 series: precipitation hardening stainless steel. And 2B stainless steel coil refers to the surface processing wire drawing, frosting, polishing 8k, etc., which are applied in various industrial fields according to requirements. So how is the 2B stainless steel coil processed?
The characteristics of the 2B stainless steel coil are complete product specifications, diverse materials; high dimensional accuracy, up to ±0.1mm; excellent surface quality, good brightness; strong corrosion resistance, high tensile strength, and high fatigue strength; the chemical composition is stable, the steel is pure, and the content of inclusions is low; the packaging is intact and the price is favorable.
2B stainless steel coil is obtained by quenching treatment. Quenching is a softening heat treatment operation. To eliminate the traces of the hot rolling process, austenite, austenite-ferrite, and austenite-martensite hot rolled strips must be quenched. The quenching operation is to first heat the 2B stainless steel coil in a straight-through furnace, generally at a heating temperature of 1050~1150℃, so that the carbides in the steel are fully dissolved, and uniform austenite structure is obtained. Then the 2B stainless steel coil will be cooled quickly, mainly with water. If heated and then cooled, carbides may be precipitated from the solid solution in the temperature range of 900 to 450°C, making stainless steel sensitive to intergranular corrosion. Quenching of cold-rolled stainless steel strips can be used as intermediate heat treatment or final heat treatment. As the final heat treatment, the heating temperature should be in the temperature range of 1100 to 1150°C.
Tensile strength is the strength limit, which refers to the maximum stress that a material can withstand before it breaks. The tensile strength of the 2B stainless steel coil is 520MPA. The Rockwell hardness test of stainless steel pipe is the same as the Brinell hardness test, which is the indentation test method. The difference is that it measures the depth of the indentation. Rockwell hardness test is a widely used method at present, and Rockwell hardness can be used to measure metal materials from very soft to very hard.
